Experience
Currently, I work as a professor at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, however, I also offer private tutoring services to students seeking extra help for work in the fields of English and/or Communication Studies. I have been working as a tutor in conjunction with local universities and colleges since 2008. I worked as a writing tutor at Penn State University, Berks Campus (2008-2010) and Reading Area Community College (2008-2009). Additionally, I took tutoring appointments for writing projects and technology-based projects at Louisiana State University (2011-2015) while I was earning my doctoral degree. My unique education and teaching experience allows me to work across subjects and fields of study and to work with students at any level of the learning process, from kindergarteners to college students. It is perhaps worth noting that at the college level, I have taught courses in English composition, public speaking, gender communication, interpersonal communication, the rhetoric of literature, the performance of literature, and the rhetoric of visual media. I enjoy helping others work on improving their literacy and their written and oral communication skills. As a highly qualified individual who has worked with students in a university setting for the last decade, I find that working one-on-one with students outside of a classroom environment can also be a very rewarding experience.
